Doesn’t everything have a few myths? There’s a constant rumor going around about everything. Such myths sound so absurd, yet people tend to believe those without thinking for a second. Just google anything, any topic, and somewhere you will find the myths about it as well.

Just like that, social media marketing has its myths as well. Search for them on Google, and you will find hundreds of them. All these myths have been proven wrong, but still, people believe them.

Marketers in the USA have moved on to social media marketing to promote businesses. Since social media has helped many business owners in gaining more customers and increased traffic on the website. Many business owners go for this marketing to market their products and services, but still, there are people who don’t opt for this marketing. Why, may you ask? Of course, due to the myths, they hear about social media marketing in USA.

Let’s see what those myths are that have made people not choose social media marketing.

Myth #1 — Customers aren’t on social media

According to the statistics, over 3.7 billion people use social media all over the globe. It looks like there is a social media platform for every kind of person. Need to chat with friends and family? You have Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. Need to connect with professional people? You have LinkedIn. Mostly everyone is on social media. Check up on your grandparents; they must be on it too. So, it’s totally wrong to say that your customers aren’t on social media.

Every social media isn’t for every business. You have to find which social media your audiences use the most and promote your brand there.

Myth #2 — Join every social media network immediately

Another myth about social media marketing in USA is to join every social media immediately. We know that there are many social media platforms. But it doesn’t mean that you have to join every other social media for your brand.

You have to see which social media aligns the best with your brand. Set up your brand’s profile on every social media and see which one works for your brand. When you see which one is the best, then remove your brand from other social media platforms. Devote your time on that social media platform where your audience spends the most time. The one which brings you more engagements and aligns with your marketing strategies.

Myth #3 — Social media is only for conversation, not sharing brand content

The most absurd myth that we have heard about social media marketing in USA is that social media is only for increasing conversations but not for sharing your brand content. We know that conversations are important. They help you build the trust of your customer and strong relationship. But that’s not the only thing that social media platforms are for brands.

Posting valuable and informational content on social media platforms will bring you more customers. They might not engage in a conversation with you, but that content can bring people’s attention to your brand’s products and services. This way, your brand will become visible to the people who never knew about your brand.

It’s not always about sticking a conversation with the customers. Providing them useful information and educating them about your brand can also help your business succeed.

Myth #4 — Doesn’t drive bottom-line results

Through social media marketing in USA, you can generate leads, bring in more customers, increase conversion and engagements, high traffic on websites. There are many examples of brands that have used social media marketing, and now their brand is successful. Social media platforms are tools that you can use to promote your brands through different strategies and increase your sales. So, it’s false when people say that social media doesn’t drive bottom-line results.

Myth #5 — Social media managers have to be new graduates or have years of experience

This myth of social media marketing in USA should be erased from the world because it’s so not true. You don’t have to be a new graduate or have years of experience just to manage the social media pages of your brand. You can do it regardless of age and job. Instead of looking for the age factor in social media, managers try to look for someone who is creative and can handle social media.

So, these were the myths of social media marketing in USA that people believe and don’t go for it for their business marketing. Don’t believe everything people say; if you have any confusion, then contact a marketer who can help you in making the right decision because social media marketing is one of the best marketing strategies.
